the sock story

we’re glad you took the time to click this far and learn more about little pepper’s reasons for commemorating our 10th year in business “celebrating with socks”. as we mentioned in our announcement, socks are the most asked for item of clothing for the homeless, those in-need and for at-risk communities.

now here’s the personal part: back in 2016 we lost a very important family member from our little pepper team: David Forster, sandy’s oldest son and max and sam’s big brother. David was an elite marathon runner, and while out on an evening training run on june 24th, he suddenly collapsed and passed away 6 blocks from his house in NE minneapolis. David had joined little pepper 9 months before and was excited by his work; he embraced NE as his home, he loved his family, friends and fiancée Abby, and he was passionate about running.

we know that running is a simple sport, and with good shoes and a nice pair of socks you’re on your way. so……with David’s connection to socks and our community need for them as well, we put it all together.

we miss David more than words can say, but by collecting these socks, we think we honor his legacy, we salute his passion and we serve others in need.

and that’s our sock story.
